fix(editor): restart playback from the timeline beginning when ended - #1400
Fixes replay behavior in the editor preview when playback reaches the end of the timeline:
Clean timeline replay: Clicking play when stopped at or near the end of the timeline automatically restarts playback from the beginning, working reliably for full-length recordings, trimmed clips, and multi-clip timelines without stalls or button flicker.
Accurate transport state: Transport button state (play/pause) and playhead position stay synchronized during replay, rewinds, and end-of-timeline events.
Robust timeline bounds: Timeline duration and endpoint resolution accurately account for multi-clip arrangements and ignore zero-duration artifacts at the boundary.

Testing
Unit tests in src/components/ai-edition/VirtualPreview.playback.test.tsx:
Added test cases covering replay restart after a full clip ends and after a trimmed clip ends (restarts with one play event after a %s-second clip ends).
Added test case covering replay restart after the browser's native ended event (restarts after the browser's ended event).
Added test case verifying that playback is not paused while a replay seek is in flight (does not pause or cancel playback while a replay seek is in flight).
Unit tests in src/lib/ai-edition/timeline/virtual-preview.test.ts:
Added tests for non-monotonic clip ordering in totalVirtualDuration and endpoint clip resolution in locateVirtualPosition.
Added test for empty clips return in locateVirtualPosition.

Timeline utilities now calculate duration and endpoint positions from clip end times. VirtualPreview and NewEditorShell handle playback near the timeline end, including replay from the beginning. VirtualPreview also handles pending seeks before updating playback position.
The duration calculation returns the greatest clip end time. Position lookup assigns the inclusive endpoint to the last positive-width clip ending at that duration. Tests cover out-of-order clips and a zero-length clip at the endpoint.
End-of-timeline playback and replay src/components/ai-edition/VirtualPreview.tsx, src/components/ai-edition/VirtualPreview.playback.test.tsx, src/components/ai-edition/NewEditorShell.tsx
VirtualPreview pauses animation-frame updates while the video seeks and processes pending programmatic seeks before playback-position updates. When no next clip exists, onEnded updates virtual time to the timeline duration. VirtualPreview and NewEditorShell seek to zero when playback starts near the timeline end. Tests cover replay during seeking, playback state, and virtual time zero.
Replay can still fail when switching clips or when a seek is already in progress. Resolve both playback paths before merging.

Preserve playback when replay switches assets.
When the final clip uses a different asset from the first clip, handleSeek(0) publishes a seek without playback intent. VirtualPreview then calls seekToVirtualTime with preservePlayback = false, so the cross-asset pending seek stores play: false. The separate videoElement.play() call targets the old element and can lose playback when that element is replaced.
The new onPlay handler only helps if it runs before the asset switch. Keep the rewind and playback intent in one operation so the new asset receives play: true during metadata loading.

This is already handled by VirtualPreview's onPlay handler:
When playback restarts, VirtualPreview's onPlay handler checks if virtualTime >= virtualDuration - 0.05 and calls seekToVirtualTime(0, true, true). With preservePlayback: true and forceResume: true, seekToVirtualTime sets shouldContinuePlayback = true. During a cross-asset switch (isAssetSwitch === true), it sets pendingSeekRef.current = { sourceTimeSec: startPos.sourceTimeSec, play: true }, which onLoadedMetadata picks up to start playback once the new asset is loaded.

@bet4it The onPlay path does set play: true, as you described. My concern is the separate seek queued by NewEditorShell.handleSeek(0).
I checked the current code:
In VirtualPreview.tsx, Line 1672, the seekTarget effect calls seekToVirtualTime without playback flags.
That call defaults preservePlayback to false.
If a pending seek exists, Lines 1514–1517 replace its playback intent with play: false.
Thus, if the seek effect runs after onPlay, it can overwrite the intent that onPlay preserved. If the seek commits first, onPlay can instead see virtual time zero and skip its rewind branch.
Your explanation confirms that the direct onPlay path works. It does not establish the ordering of the shell-triggered path. I have not reproduced a playback failure. A cross-asset replay test through NewEditorShell.togglePlay, including metadata completion, would settle this concern.
When preview playback reaches the end of the timeline, pressing play again could stall, desync, or require multiple clicks to replay because the playhead was held at or past the timeline boundary, causing the playback loop to pause immediately upon starting. When the timeline was trimmed shorter than the underlying media file, clicking play repeatedly would continually hit the trim boundary without restarting from the beginning.
1. In NewEditorShell togglePlay, when playhead is at or near the timeline end (duration - 0.05s), pre-seek the video element synchronously to the start position before calling play(), ensuring playback starts cleanly from 0 without triggering an immediate boundary pause.
2. In NewEditorShell, synchronize onPlay and onPause to !el.paused, and guard onEnded with if (!el.paused) return so in-flight playback is never falsely marked as stopped.
3. In VirtualPreview onPlay, if virtualTime is at or near virtualDuration, rewind to the beginning via seekToVirtualTime(0, true, true). In onEnded, publish the timeline duration when no next clip exists, and guard against non-paused events.
4. Derive virtual duration from maximum timelineEndSec across clips rather than array index order, and restrict timeline endpoint candidates to positive-duration clips.
